I was looking on fanfiction.net, just minding my own business, when... WHAM! Gaara X OC! LOTSA GAARA X OC!

They seem to all take place before Gaara becomes Kazekage and gets that wooden spoon out of his butt. Some girl with an equally or more painful past teaches him to love again. She's beautiful, smart, and incredibly strong. ( Read more... )

If I see ONE MORE OCxCanon Character badfic in chuunin, I'M KILLING EVERYONE.
This lates crap has a Mononoke rip off hooking up with Gaara.
She's also an Amazon.

Another one, from quite some time ago, has a self-insert getting sucked into the "Naruto World" and hooking up with Kakashi.

Do you remember back when you started writing, and you made up Japanese names that were basically just you putting two words together that you liked the translation of?

Guess what? Naruto is one of those times when you can and probably should do that.
